Premium tribute

A tribute with more room

A free tribute is complete on its own. Sometimes you want more: more photos, captions on each one, video, your own vanity URL, a QR code for a memorial spot, and longer retention guarantees.

Three packages

Three packages to choose from per tribute. One-time payment, no subscription, no automatic renewals. With Permanent (lifetime) you never receive a renewal email.

What you get

• More photos (Premium 4, Memoriam 8, Permanent 15) instead of 1 on the free version. Useful when a tribute deserves more imagery.
• A caption per photo. Short text giving context, helpful for visitors and search engines.
• Choose visibility yourself. Decide per photo whether it's public, only for logged-in visitors, or just for you and the moderators.
• Self-editing. Updates to text, date, location or photos go through immediately. We review afterwards.
• Choose your own URL. Instead of random characters, pick your own name, for example tributemap.com/en/tribute/grandpa-john.
• QR code for physical places. Download a QR code as PNG or SVG to place on a grave, memorial stone, bench or commemoration spot. Suitable for laser engraving or printing.
• Memorial book. A printer-friendly page with the complete tribute and all memories. Save as PDF for a family member or as a personal archive.
• Short video on the tribute. An MP4 of up to 90 seconds is included with Premium (Memoriam 5 minutes, Permanent 10 minutes). With Premium you can optionally upgrade to 2, 5 or 10 minutes (€5/€10/€20 one-time). Videos are publicly visible; you are responsible for content and rights. See the terms for details.
• Unlimited connections. Link this tribute to others (birthplace, places they visited, partner, shared events) without a limit. The free version caps at 3 per tribute.
• Extended funeral info. On top of date, time and location, you can add a service-card PDF and a livestream link. The free version has only the basic fields.
• Retention guarantee. Premium 5 years, Memoriam 50 years, Permanent lifetime. At the end of the term we kindly ask Premium and Memoriam owners if they'd like to extend (for half the price at that time). Permanent never renews. Nothing disappears on its own.

How it works

1. First, create your tribute as usual, free.
2. Click the Upgrade button above or on the edit page of your tribute.
3. You go to a secure payment page where you pay for the chosen package via iDEAL, credit card, Bancontact or PayPal.
4. Right after payment your tribute is on the chosen package and you receive a confirmation email. All new features are immediately available.

Frequently asked

Is it per tribute or per account?

Per tribute. One payment equals one upgraded tribute. For multiple tributes there are packages: Family (5 Premium tributes for €99), Family tree (100 Memoriam tributes for €499) and Genealogical research (1000 Permanent tributes for €1,999).

What happens at the end of the retention period?

For Premium (5 years) and Memoriam (50 years) we send you a friendly email around the end-date asking if you'd like to extend. The renewal rate is always half the price at that time (currently about €15 for Premium and €50 for Memoriam). If you don't, your tribute stays online, but paid features revert to the free version 30 days after expiry. Nothing is deleted. Permanent (lifetime) never renews, no renewal emails ever.

Which payment methods can I use?

You pay directly via iDEAL, credit card, debit card, Bancontact or PayPal. Prefer bank transfer? Email us and we'll arrange it.

Can I upgrade later?

Always. Tributes that have existed for months or years can still be upgraded; all features become available right away.

How does the QR code work exactly?

On the edit page of your paid tribute you'll find a QR section. Download it as PNG (for printing) or SVG (for laser engraving or large formats). The code always points to your tribute, even if you later pick a custom URL.

What are co-owners and what can they do?

Co-owners are people you invite by email to become co-stewards. Once they log in with that same address, they see the tribute in their account and can update text, photos and location. What they cannot do: delete the tribute, change privacy settings, or promote themselves to primary owner (that stays only with you and our admins). The maximum depends on your tier: Free 1 co-owner, Premium 3, Memoriam and Permanent 5.

What are successors and when is a tribute transferred?

A successor is a co-owner with a rank who may take over the tribute when needed. Three paths to start a transfer: you yourself from your account, a trusted contact via a mail link after passing (legacy flow), or automatically on extended inactivity (choose between 6, 12, 18 or 24 months). The latter starts with a warning email plus 14 days to simply log in and cancel. If the first successor doesn't respond within 12 weeks to the invitation, the offer moves to the next. You can designate successors from Premium upwards; Memoriam and Permanent have no count limit.

Does the memorial book work offline?

The memorial book is a printer-friendly web page. Open it in your browser and choose 'Print'. Under 'Destination' pick 'Save as PDF' to get an offline copy you can share with family or have bound.

What about data retention after cancellation or inactivity?

We do not casually remove tributes. If you don't respond to renewal emails, paid features revert to free but your tribute stays online. After long-term inactivity (six years without any response) we send a final reminder and only then move a tribute to archive. On request an archived tribute can be restored. Do I get an invoice?

Yes, on request. Email us with your invoicing details and we'll send one. TributeMap is currently a private initiative without a Chamber of Commerce number; for business purchases by funeral providers or foundations we'll contact you once that changes.
